I have photographed bar and bat mitzvahs for at least 20 years. This photo captures my sentiment perfectly. I am soooo lucky to work in a job that I enjoy so much! My genuine pleasure at watching a family - multi-generational - partake in a ceremony and reception that includes the most celebrated celebrant, but also his or her siblings, cousins, parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, peers and friends from near and far away. My favorite part is when the celebrant is joyously embarrassed dancing with their parents while their classmates look on.
This ceremony took place at Congregational Beth El, a conservative synagogue in Fairfield, Ct. and the party continued directly after at Tashua Knolls in Trumbull, CT.
